Men’s Walk Report

Saturday 3rd December

The rain on Friday night made some of us wonder about the advisability of the latest Men’s Walk planned for the following Saturday. We needn’t have worried, though, as the morning dawned with beautiful blue skies and sunshine!

There were not quite so many men on this walk (the lure of a day of Christmas shopping, perhaps?) But, promptly at 9.15am, eight of us travelled to Breedon for the walk. We didn’t climb the hill, but took a really interesting route around the golf course and fields. The weather was really good, with a brisk cool wind to keep us going, and, though underfoot was a bit sludgy in places and there were a couple of vicious styles and a very slippery bank to negotiate, we thoroughly enjoyed the walk.

Ending at the Breedon Garden Centre ‘tea rooms’ everyone indulged in a lovely ‘full English’ which finished the morning off to a tee! Thanks to Alan Liggins (aided and abetted by Adrian Bristoll) for another fantastic event of fun, fellowship - and a good meal.

The next men’s walk will (hopefully) be on Saturday MARCH  3rd 2012.

It was also mooted that next Summer a full day’s walk might be attempted.  Let Alan Liggins know if you think this is a good idea and might like to take part.
